Apple’s new ipad was unveiled in San Fracisco on the 22nd of October 2013, Phil Schiller whom is the Senior Vice president of World wide marketing at apple took unveiled the latest update to its iPad tablet line (The Ipad Air) at the event. After selling over 170 million devices the company is debuting its fourth-generation tablet called the iPad Air with a 9.7-inch Retina display
The new iPad is thinner and lighter than before. It weighs just 1 pound and comes equipped with an A7 chip. It’s bezel is 43 percent thinner and a GPU speed 72 times faster. It has a 5MP iSight camera, 1080p HD video with new FaceTime HD camera with larger pixels, improved backside illumination, and dual microphone. It has a 10-hour battery life as well. And yes, it will come with iOS 7.
It will be available in silver/white and gray/black and is designed to be environmentally friendly. The new iPad will begin shipping to buyers from November 1.
Phil Schiller also announced Apple’s new lineup of MacBook Pros with Retina display. The new machines received beefed up graphics, processors, and RAM, but Apple has been able to drop the price on both the 13 and 15-inch models.
The new 13-inch MacBook Pro is just 0.71 inches thin. Powered by 4th generation Haswell chip it comes with Iris Graphics for 90% faster graphics performance. The new 13-inch MacBook Pro gets 9 hours of iTunes movie playback on a single charge.
Apple upgraded the flash storage to PCIE storage and 3x faster Wifi. Thunderbolt 2 has also been added to the new machines. The price has been dropped on the new MacBook Pros from $1499 to $1299 on the 13-inch Retina display model with 2.4Ghz core I5 and 4GB of RAM.
The 15-inch MacBook Pro has also been updated to new 4th gen Haswell processor too and GeForece GT 750M graphics. Battery life has been bumped to 8-hours and it has the faster PCIE flash, Thunderbolt 2, and OS X Mavericks. For the first time, Apple is making the machine available for under $2000.
