It is the month of March and the much-awaited release of the Super Mario Run Game is coming to your mobile device (assuming you are part of the 81.7% using an Android OS enabled Smartphone).
Trivia: Sorry, if you don’t own smartphone this post is not for you, we can like to continue with our snake and ladder.
Ok, so here I am just reminding you that you should be alert and perhaps PRE-REGISTER on Google’s PlayStore.
Some interesting things to note about the Super Mario Run Game
- It is Nintendo’s first Smartphone Game debuted in December 2016.
- It has been dubbed as a “fee app rather than a free app” as you are required to pay $9.99 to unlock full features.
- Comes with mixed feelings as some people claim the “game is not good”, perhaps overhyped.
- You’ll need an active internet connection to play.
Personally, points 2 and 4 makes me quite uncomfortable. It feels like they are being too exclusive (‘rich’ in developed countries with unhindered access to the internet).
I am eager to see the acceptance rate in the Android market as most of them have been stereotyped as utility consumers who value “something that works” over “style and class” like their Apple counterparts. This correlation is needed because already, it was reported that less than 10% of the iOS users who downloaded the game went ahead to purchase the full features.
