Samsung Galaxy S7

Samsung Galaxy S7 likely to be announced at MWC 2016

With the Samsung Galaxy S7 likely to be launched at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC), several information about the device have leaked to the press and we thought you’d like  to hear about them.

Please note however that these are only rumours and not facts. So, even though we’re not 100% sure about them being true, we’re looking at them only as a means of getting a glimpse of some things to expect from Samsung’s next flagship device.

Leaks show that the Galaxy S7 will feature a 5.1-inch screen. It will also feature a 2560×1440 ppi display, 4GB of RAM, Android Marshmallow and either Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 or Samsung’s own Exynos 8890 processor.

Unlike the Samsung Galaxy S6, the S7 is expected to come with a 12-megapixel camera, down from 16MP in the S6. While some may think this means that Samsung is downgrading the camera feature in the S7, camera enthusiasts and tech savvy people know that a camera’s number of megapixels isn’ t the only thing that determines the quality of pictures it’ll produce.

With regards to the look of the device, it’s rumoured that the S7 will look a lot like the S6 except for a new 3D Touch-like screen technology and some minor tweaks to its design.

Other leaks which have reportedly surfaced much more recently speculate that the S7 would be made of a magnesium based alloy which would make the device light yet stronger and would allow heat produced by its processors to flow out better.

Some speculate too that the S7 would come with liquid cooling which would keep the device from over-heating and draining the battery.

The 2016 MWC would be held in Barcelona from the 22nd to the 25th of February and I’ll definitely be looking to see which of these leaks were true.

What features would you love to see in the new Samsung Galaxy S7 and why? I’ll be looking forward to your comments.
