Sooner than expected, popular messaging app Whatsapp is rolling out support for video calls. The recent update to 2.16.318 is bringing video capability to the instant messaging platform.
The interface is similar to that of the voice call and the video icon will only be visible against the contact who is currently on the Beta version.
A tap on the call icon now has an option to choose between a voice call and a video call.
Whatsapp is arguably the biggest instant messaging platform with over a billion users worldwide, it has become an alternative to text messaging owing to its interactive nature and its continuous dynamic user friendly updates.
The new update is still in Beta stage and is yet to roll out to users on Play store, apparently this will be available in the coming weeks.
Both users need be on the Beta client before they can make Whatsapp video call.
