In October 2016, Stutern – an online internship listing platform founded in 2015 ran the maiden edition of the Nigeria Internship Fair – an annual event for prospective interns to meet employers looking to hire, which hosted companies like Business Day, NairaBox, MAX delivery, Tizeti (wifi.ng) etc.
While last year’s event was tagged successful according to this post by co-founder, Taiwo Ayanleye. This year’s event has been positioned to be bigger and better.
Speaking with the Co-founders a few weeks ago they make a boast as to the number of interns some employers are looking to hire. They mentioned one particular employer looking to hire about 25 interns. Also, they’ve fleshed out their panel session and speaker series with representatives (mainly HR) from reputable companies like Airtel, Andela, CcHub, Chocolate City, Jobberman, Konga. Furthermore, the CEO of MAX delivery, Assistant Manager at Tizeti, Co-founder of GoMyWay Africa and Artist, Emem Attah (contestant, The Voice Nigeria ’16) are reported to be in attendance on their site.
Previously, the event held in UNILAG’s multipurpose hall and will still be hold there this year because “don’t fix it if it ain’t broken”. I was there last year and it appeared to have served their purpose of splitting the day into two sessions. One for the brief charge and talk on employability skills and challenges and the other section for the live interviews.
The two-day event for this year is scheduled for 18 – 19 August 2017.
You can join as a talent or an employer to let them know what kind of position you are looking for and vacancy at your company respectively.
