I am only just writing this article because I have recovered (or so i think) from the shock of news about Samsung recalling the Note 7. I never ever thought a day would come when a Samsung phone would not only be recalled for electrical faults but the production would be stopped altogether. A Note 7! My heart sank deep when I saw the headline on TV last week. I knew (and had) plans for the coolest launch of the Galaxy Note 7 in Nigeria. I even watched the announcement live from New York and did a hat-trick post on the site following its launch back in August. The anticipation was real. So, imagine when you are expecting a loved one who’s probably been away for a very long time and you hear they are not coming anymore. Ah! God forbid! Too deep? Well, here’s what some Samsung fans took to their social media to say…
Goodbye Note 7. You’ll always be my true love. Hello S7 Edge Olympic Edition.. damn you’re sexy pic.twitter.com/dF7ywmk6s1

I love everything about my Samsung Galaxy Note 7, even though I know it could explode at any second.
It pretty much sums up my entire life.

Even after Samsung offered a 100 dollar payment to as many who returned their Galaxy Note 7 devices and picked another Samsung phone, sent fire proof boxes and gloves for customers to pack their phones in for return, a number of loyal fans have said they would not return theirs. In many international airports, there are collection centres for users to return their phones as passengers are not allowed to carry or turn on the Galaxy Note 7’s aboard a plane.
In all my years of using a Samsung phone; through the heat of the device from very hot sun and very long use, to replacing broken screens and the likes, this is the most heart-breaking incident to ever happen to me as a Samsung fan. I do hope they get out of the murky waters soon!
