One of Nigeria’s major active individuals on Twitter, Japheth Omojuwa has revealed how he makes money on Twitter. Speaking on the panel on Digital Jobs at the ongoing Social Media Week in Lagos, Omojuwa told participants that he earns by sending strategic tweets for companies at very critical times.
“If a say something like ‘I prefer Coca Cola to Pepsi, know that they paid for such tweet,” he said.
According to him, his clients include Interswitch, MTN, First Bank and several others.
“I’m also a public speaker which means I get paid to speak at events. If I’m at an event and I am tweeting about your event, you will still pay me extra for that,” he said. According to him, he has done such for several organizations within and outside Nigeria.

The Executive Director of Paradigm Initiative Nigeria, Gbenga Sesan added that those that fail to avail themselves of the opportunities presented to them by digital jobs are the ones that would be only be regarded as statistics for those who are making money online.
“If you are not at the table, you are on the menu,” he said.
