Google has a meetUp App called Who’s Down

Google has recently released a new messaging app called “Who’s Down”. The app which is available for both Android and iOS allows you to indicate to your friends if you’re down/available to hangout or socialize and what you’re down for/interested in doing. The app thus serves as a way for each person to broadcast his or her availability and interest so as to connect equally free people who’ve got similar interests.

Screen shots on the apps Play store show that on logging into the app, the app displays a toggle switch which you slide in other to let your friends know you’re free. Once you slide that switch, you’ll be available for 3 hours and then you can pick from a list of activities to let your friends know what you are down for. The app also allows you browse what your friends are down for/interested in doing and you can chat with friends within the app

The app is currently an invite-only app. Which means that though you download it for free, you can’t use it until you’ve received an invitation. The sign up form for Who’s down asks for just your email address and school, thus causing many analysts to believe that the app is mainly targeted at teenagers.

Like I mentioned earlier, the app is an invite only app. However if you’ve got no invitation, you can request one from the app when signing up.

So if talking to people to tell them that you’re available to socialize is too much effort for you? Then Who’s Down app will help you with that.
