Huawei Technologies has announced a new device in its ‘Honor’ series, The Honor 8. Even with the all glass peculiarity with the Honor phones, this latest addition to the Honor series has already been tagged the most pocket friendly because although it costs like half the price of Huawei’s latest Flagship- the P9, many of its specifications are similar to the P9.
The following specs are similar in both the Honor 8 and the P9:
- Memory/Storage – 3GB/32GB, 4GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB
- Camera(rear) – 12MP, F2.2, Dual lens (1 B&W, 1 RGB)
- Camera(front) – 8MP, F2.4
- Software – Huawei EMUI 4.1 on Android Marshmallow 6.0
Other specifications like the processor speed, size and build are different for the Honor 8 as it comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD display, is covered with a 2.5D glass front and back and is powered by a Kirin 950 processor.
When released in China on the 19th of July, the Honor 8 will go for ¥1,999 for the 32GB model and ¥2,499 for the 64GB model that’s about $492/$569 and $298/$373 respectively.
Going by the pictures alone, the Huawei Honor 8 looks like a promising device. All that’s left is for Huawei to bring it into Nigeria and graciously give us a copy to play with. But wait. We haven’t even reviewed the P9 yet….Just guess why.
