So you’ve got four fingers behind your phone with your thumb scrolling through twitter or a website and you see something you like but can’t read immediately, how do you save it for later? Well here are 5 ways to do just that.
1. Screenshot
This is the most common way of saving a funny photo, quote, instagram post or tweet. Ranging from holding some specific buttons on an Android or iOS device to tapping an on-screen icon, screen shot grabs a picture of everything on the phone screen and saves it to your gallery for viewing when you have the time. Hopefully, you check your gallery often and you can search the title of what you shot.
2. DM Yourself
Surprisingly, this unorthodox trick works on twitter. Forwarding a tweet to your own direct message is a way to save it and view later.
3. Pocket it!
In case you didn’t know, there’s an app for just this purpose of saving content you like from whatever social media app, website or page you are browsing. The Pocket app is available on iOS and Android and makes saving and viewing for later easier. Download it
4. Collection, Favourite, Moments, Watch Later.
Different social media have different features for saving content and viewing later. For twitter, you can LIKE the tweet. There’s also the ‘moments’ feature which is like a safe place where you keep the appealing tweets. Instagram has the ‘collection’ option where you can save posts privately and view them later while YouTube has a “watch later” option and share. Note that these features can be used on the respective app alone, that is, whatever you save can be opened and viewed while using the app.
5. Share With-
This is quite basic but you can actually save posts by sharing them with friends or your sibling (in my case) via whatsapp, mail and other social media. This makes the content spread farther and saved for longer.
