Lagos, Nigeria – NodeJS conference set to hold in Nigeria two weeks from now (September 8), the venue is Zone Tech Park.
Earlier this month, we witnessed a major platform-agnostic international developer conference – Concatenate in Gbagada, Lagos. It trended on Twitter for the two-days in which it held, August 11 & 12 and got a lot of people excited about the developer scene in Nigeria.
The event which was live-streamed has speakers from across the globe. It held at the 650-seater conference hall of Zone Tech Park, situated in Gbagada, Lagos. Coincidentally, the NodeJS conference had been set to happen after the Concatenate conference. Now, all eyes will be on the organisers to see if they can pull off a “Concatenate-grade” event.
While Concatenate focused on a range of technologies, NodeJS conference will focus on the daily application of Node.js in building software.
Node.js is a server-side language written in Javascript. With the introduction of node.js, developers can build an entire application (frontend and backend) solely using Javascript (see: MEAN stack).
The event will start at 11:00 AM, and there will be speakers from all over the world, as well. Particularly excited about the fact that Thomas Watson a Principal Software Engineer at Elastic (makers of Elastic search) will be present physically on the day.

The primary sponsor of the event is the NodeJS foundation. Other event sponsors include Jet Brains (makers of IntelliJ IDEA), Scotch.io (a popular tutorial site), Azure Dev Advocates (of Microsoft) and VanHack(a hiring platform for tech talents).
VanHack’s aim is “to educate the tech ecosystem on how to get job offers that may include relocation or remote-working”.
It promises to be an enlightening time, if you are interested, register. The program is a short one, billed to end at 2:30 PM, so if you plan to attend, go there early.
