Elon Musk’s Twitter buyout deal is closing, and most Twitter employees are walking a thin line. The billionaire may have something in store for up to 70% of the current workforce of the social media application. According to most analysts, Elon is working on a total revamp of the social media application, and this could include letting go of the workforce on the ground.

This firing process will aid Musk in cutting down the cost of operating Twitter once he takes over. At the moment, the purchase of Twitter is not just a probability as insiders say it is moving smoothly. The deadline for the purchase deal to close is the 28th of October, which turns out to be just a few days away.

Once the deal closes, Twitter employees will know their fate concerning their current job. Already the social media platform has begun making plans to lay off some workers, hence reducing stress on the payroll. Also, Tesla, Elon Musk’s electric car manufacturing company took part in some “firing process” a few months ago.

It is good to understand that the main aim of Musk’s bargain for Twitter just like every other business activity is profit. Sadly, his quest to be in profit with this purchase will affect the current workforce of the company. The potential loss of talent at Twitter once this purchase is over will tell on the operations of the platform afterwards.

While the world waits for the courts to decide the outcome of this purchase as well as the next line of action for most Twitter employees, preparing to apply for a job at Twitter in this season may not be ideal, since the company will be cutting costs. We wait to see how events unfold with the Twitter purchase within the week.
