Lagos remains a reflection of the diversity and effervescent complexity of our nation; Nigeria. North, south, east and west all reside in this great city. From the early Monday morning blaring horns to the world renowned traffic jams, and unrivalled hustle spirit; Lagos remains a leading commercial hub in Nigeria and Africa as a whole, unparalleled in excitement and buzz.

The advent of democracy has brought great dividends for our nation and even more so for the prestigious Lagos State. The state has witnessed unprecedented sustainable development from one administration to the next since the commencement of civilian rule in 1999; thanks to the sterling efforts of its great leaders. However our journey towards attaining the prominent status of the world’s leading business cities like London, New York and Hong Kong to name but a few has only just begun.

With 70% of economic activity in Nigeria rooted in the ‘Centre of Excellence’, Lagos no doubt has a prominent role to play in the advancement of Africa’s leading economy but before this ‘centre’ can play its pivotal role effectively as Nigeria and Africa’s leading economic hub, the city needs to be made right! It is this desire to build upon the achievements of the highly revered past and present leaders of Lagos State that birthed the concept…. #TheFutureLagos

Every Lagosian one way or the other has an idea of #TheFutureLagos i.e. where he/she sees Lagos in the next 5 or 10 years. It is hoped that by getting the entire residents of Lagos to collectively and clearly table their ideas and vision for the state, we can together build the Lagos of our Dreams.

#TheFutureLagos is an initiative powered by a group of young Nigerians who are desperate for change in Nigeria as a whole with a bird’s eye view on Lagos. We believe that Lagos has the capacity, the ability, and the wherewithal to become a world class city. A leading business Centre with steady power supply, a top notch transportation system and roads free of traffic jams – We believe Lagos can truly become the City of our Dreams!
