A Look At Ubisoft’s ‘Assassin’s Creed III’

So we all have probably heard of Ubisoft montreal’s development of the fifth installment in its Assassin’s Creed series. If you’re currently reading this, then like me, you have an unhealthy love for video games… or maybe you just clicked on the wrong tab. Nevertheless, we’re all here and we might as well get going.

Assassins creed III looks set to be released on the Xbox360, Playstation 3, Wii U and Microsoft windows platforms. The worldwide release date for the Xbox360 and Playstation 3 consoles have since been confirmed for the 30th of October, 2012, with a Microsoft Windows version following on November 18, 2012. Definitely looking like a game of the year contender, Assassins Creed III will follow Desmond Miles as he attempts to unlock the mysteries of his ancestry and save the world from the templars by relieving the memories of the new protagonist, half-English and half-Native American Connor Kenway.

Previous installments of the series were set in a variety of locations, from the third crusade to renaissance Italy, playing in places such as Jerusalem and Venice; however, Assassins Creed III takes place during the American revolution, paving the way for a number of new locations such as Boston and New York as well as interesting characters. Ubisoft announced that during the course of the game, players will encounter historical figures including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Charles Lee, Thomas Jefferson, King George III and others.

The promising prospect of dispersing of templars as you tour colonial America whilst creeping through the shadows like a total bad-ass is second only to the impressing new game-play features. New weapons, new stealth  and fighting moves, upgraded artificial intelligence and a fluid  interaction with your surroundings are but a few of the things that the game’s developers have earnestly worked on to bring Assassins Creed III to a whole different level. Connor’s character is motivated by doing the right thing as he chooses to go to war in “fighting for freedom and against tyranny.” In building Connor’s character around his ancestry, Ubisoft states that they have been working with a Mohawk consultant on various aspects of this culture and the language that is taken upon them.

In reference to the weapons that Connor will be bringing into the Assassin’s Creed franchise, many of the weapons are inspired by Connor’s heritage. Additional advantages that Connor’s heritage brings him is the enhanced ability to hunt and navigate the land around him. Escalating to the technical part of the game, Ubisoft has confirmed that “the development team has created over an hour of additional animations solely for Connor’s character.” I personally am looking forward to wielding double mohican war axes.

Ubisoft is currently partaking in a four part video series for the video game, which will be detailing new features that have been implemented into assassins creed III. As usual, it would be my pleasure to bring all these to you, you know, because i’m a pretty nice guy.
