A Nigerian Fintech has won an award at the Africa Fintech Summit, the largest bi-annual gathering of financial technology stakeholders in Africa.
Accelerex, a Nigerian Fintech bagged the Excellence in Commerce Enablement Award at the Africa Fintech Summit 2023.
Announcing the win, Olukayode Ariyo, MD of Accelerex said in a statement, “The award is a testament to the hard work and creativity of the entire Accelerex team in the provision of world-class payment and innovative products to businesses across Africa”
He also highlighted that the company is passionate about deepening financial inclusion and providing financial services to the undeserved and underbanked.
Clinching the prestigious award was not a walk in the park as the process was explained by the lead organizer of the summit, Andrew Barden.
The fintech was elected by a public poll that had votes from over 2000 industry stakeholders from across the globe, after an intensive and in-depth analysis of the company’s role in retail and trade markets across Africa.
Accelerex is one of the fastest growing fintech companies in Africa and has been at the forefront of the digital payment revolution in Africa.
It was incorporated in 2008 and commenced payment services in October 2013 after obtaining approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
The company has established relationships with many financial institutions as a service provider, partnering with them in Agency Banking and Merchant Acquiring and currently operates in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and Congo with plans to extend its services to other African countries.
