When was the last time you bought a phone and read the user’s manual before getting started? Most times we excitedly unbox the phone and use our heads to figure out how to do what and what does what and when we can’t figure any of these out we rush to Google for help. Well Samsung has added a new feature to its Galaxy smartphone series which would replace the user’s manual.
On the Samsung Galaxy smartphone, there is a hidden menu, accessed by dialing a specific set of characters, which helps you check your phone’s functionality and troubleshoot hardware issues.
To access the hidden menu, dial: x#0x# on your dial pad like it’s a phone number. After a moment you should see a pop up screen showing different options for you to choose from. You can run tests for vibration, touch-screen sensitivity, speaker output and more. There are also color checks which could be useful to single out dead pixels but most of the menu functions are too technical for the ordinary user.
You can run sensor checks and have the accelerometer sensor properly align all the photos on your phone. For instance photos that are slanted or off-axis would be corrected and displayed upright.
Other functions are: the touch-screen tracker which traces the path of your finger and the speaker test which plays a generic song rather loudly.
