Latest figures released by WCIS showed Bharti Airtel now has more than 303 million subscribers, making it the world’s third largest network.
Airtel has operations in 20 countries across South Asia and Africa, and has moved up one position in the global rankings.
Airtel began operations in November 1995 in New Delhi (India) and in less than two decades it has emerged as one of the top brands in the emerging markets with an unmatched scale and diversity of operations.
The top five global mobile operators by customers are China Mobile 626.27mn, Vodafone Group 403.08mn, Bharti Airtel 303.10mn, China Unicom 299.09mn and America Movil at 274.14mn.
