A new mobile game that features iconic Nigerian actors, Osita Iheme and Chinedu Ikedieze popularly called Aki and Pawpaw is now available on play stores across board.
Called Aki and Pawpaw Epic Run, the game is developed by Blueportal Inc and is similar to Temple Run or Subway surfers where the main player is on the run and gains points for the duration of play.

Aki and Pawpaw Epic Run allows a player use either Aki and Pawpaw or other characters as the main player running from masquerades, danfo (bus) drivers, “agbero’s” – local touts popular in Lagos state, Nigeria. The main player can gain points, power-ups and other perks as they go through a maze.
The game is set in different parts of Nigeria as images show local buses used in the Western and Northern parts of the country on the game. It also incorporates pidgin English in conversation and background sound effects as well as local soundtracks in the game score.
Aki and Pawpaw Epic Run features other Nigerian entertainers like Warri Pikin, Cubana chiefpriest, Big Brother Nigeria contestant, Nengi among others as alternative players.

While little is known about the actors’ involvement in the development of the game or profit sharing, as the game has paid elements, both Aki and Pawpaw have shared news of the game on their Instagram handles encouraging their fans to download the game and play.
According to film producer, Charles Okpaleke who shared the news on his twitter handle, Aki and Pawpaw Epic Run is the first ever Nollywood game app. Okpaleke’s company, Play Network Africa which is the financier of the game app is responsible for legacy Nollywood reboots like Living in Bondage, Rattlesnake, Nneka the pretty serpent and Aki Na Ukwa where Aki and Pawpaw got their fame. Aki and Pawpaw Epic Run is available on App store and Google play store.
