Apple announces new version of Desktop OS: OS X El Capitan

Today, Apple announced the latest version of OS X, its Mac operating and its name is OS X El Capitan. This announcement was made by Craig Federighi, Apple’s software chief during its WWDC event in San Francisco and it includes several new features.

Spotlight search is a feature that will search for weather and sport scores from the web, it is also integrated with supports for natural languages. Similar to Google Chrome, users will also be able to pin tabs in the Safari browser so the websites are always available.

There is also a split screen feature which allows you access two apps at once on the same screen.

Apple says OS X El Capitan is better and faster than the previous version with faster app launch, faster app switching.

The new OS is available to developers today, a public beta will be available in July while the final version which will be made available to everyone will come later in the year.
