Apple has introduced a new free, customization tool, Apple Business Connect, to users globally – particularly those with businesses. According to the company, this tool will allow businesses of all sizes to claim their location place cards and customize the way key information appears to every Apple user across its boutique of apps – Maps, Messages, Wallet, Siri, and others.
Apple’s Business Connect which looks and sounds every bit like Google Business sports similar features like the latter. Apple says Business Connect will help businesses around the world to directly manage their information on Apple Maps like adding and updating photos and logos; inviting customers to take actions like ordering food or making a reservation directly from Maps.
While Apple Business Connect may bear much semblance with Google Business, the company has not passed up the chance to innovate around an already existing idea.
“We created Business Connect to provide Apple users around the world with the most accurate information for places to eat, shop, travel, and more.”
Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services
Its product has other fringe features like Showcases which makes it easier for businesses to offer incentives to customers with the tap of a button. This is availble only in the US for now but will ship globally, soon.
Speaking about the product, Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services said, “We created Business Connect to provide Apple users around the world with the most accurate information for places to eat, shop, travel, and more.”
To register for Business Connect, business owners can use their existing Apple ID or create a new Apple ID by visiting the self-service website.
Business Connect will also incorporate easier payment models for businesses via Apple Pay, contactless credit and debit cards, and other digital wallets.
