After an intense 5-day competition, TeamApt Limited last weekend rewarded the top three winners of the Apt Coding Challenge.
The winners – Olabampe Olamigoke, Newton Imonjirie, and Sunmola Ayokunle emerged first, second and third respectively.
Olamigoke emerged winner solving all five questions at a cumulative time of 28 hrs 40 mins 27 secs, beating other contestants who signed up for the challenge. 1st runner-up Newton Imonjirie solved all questions at a cumulative time of 31 hrs 42 mins 50 secs and 2nd runner-up Ayokunle Sunmola solved all questions at a cumulative time of 35 hrs 5 mins 55 secs.
The challenge which ran from Thursday, September 27 till Monday, October 1 had over 900 contestants battling for the coveted prize of N500,000k, a Beats by Dre headset, a MacBook Air and an Apple Watch.
Speaking on their journey into software coding, Olamigoke told TeamApt that he got into programming from researching and mind mapping patterns. He also said he had once spent 48 hours consistently coding. Ayokunle, a 500-level computer science student of Olabisi Onabanjo University said learning how to code taught him to solve problems efficiently which has greatly helped his university work. When asked what the developer stereotype looked like, 2nd runner-up Newton, said a typical developer is a friendly guy who wears glasses and loves t-shirts.
Winners’ gifts were presented by TeamApt’s CEO, Tosin Eniolorunda and CEO Cymantiks Nigeria Limited, Emeka Okoye. Olabampe was presented with a cheque of N500,000 and a Beats By Dre headset as the first prize, Newton was presented with a MacBook Air as the second prize while Ayokunle was presented with an Apple Wrist Watch as the third prize.
