When BBM for Android was released, Gingerbread users were left out as the app was only available for Android Ice Cream Sandwhich (4.0) and up. BlackBerry has announced that it is now available for download, delivering on the promise it made back in January.
BBM is now available for smartphones running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It’s not surprising to know Blackberry wants to invite Gingerbread users into the experience considering it still holds a major piece of the Android platform market share
“With 21 per cent of the global Android user base running on Gingerbread, we’re excited to welcome lots of new users in to the BBM community,” said Jeff Gadway, head of product and brand marketing for BBM.
If your device still runs on Gingerbread and wish to join the league of BBM for Android users, you can download from Google Play Store here.
