The Ice Bucket Challenge is the latest viral craze to hit the internet and we have seen top celebrities dumping ice water on their heads. The craze isn’t just for the celebrities anymore as we have seen Technology CEOs taking the challenge by getting soaked with ice water. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Twitter CEO Dick Costolo, Apple CEO Tim Cook, and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg have all participated in the challenge.
Recently, former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates took on the challenge in his own unique way after accepting a challenge from Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. He proved to us that he remains the master of tech. He didn’t just raise the bucket and pour on his head the way others did it, he applied the knowledge of what he is known for.
He said “.. i wanna accept this challenge, i wanna do it better than its been done. been working on this, you know i got this design…” See video below.
Was it Cold? Yeah i guess it was.
The Ice Bucket challenge is for charity and it began in America to raise money for the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association.
ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease and Motor Neurone Disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord and can lead to speech difficulties, muscle spasms and even paralysis. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to total paralysis and death.

Now that the craze has moved into the tech world and we have seen tech millionaires and billionaires take up the challenge, I think it will be fun and interesting to see people like Sim Shagaya, Jason Njoku and other Nigerian Tech entrepreneurs do same.
