Canon has taken the wraps off eight new cameras including entry-level EOS 1200D
Canon today announced eight news cameras, including the new entry-level EOS 1200D and a new EOS companion app.
The EOS 1200D packs in various beginner features such as Scene Intelligent Auto and Creative Filters for anyone looking to take a step up from compact cameras or using a smartphone.
It comes in underneath the existing Canon EOS 1100D in Canon’s entry-level DSLR line-up.
And Canon is pushing the beginner-friendly nature of the camera with a new app. The EOS app features easy-to-navigate guides that map out the camera’s buttons and features.
The Japanese company has also added to its compact PowerShot range with highlights being the PowerShot G1 X Mark II, which packs DSLR performance into a compact body and the rugged, waterproof Canon PowerShot D30.
The G1 X Mark II uses a Canon CMOS sensor comparable with a APS-C DSLR sensor and a super-bright f/3.9 aperture lens. Canon has also improved the auto focus with 31 AF points available on this model.
Meanwhile the PowerShot D30 is, Canon tells us, the world’s deepest waterproof compact camera and will shoot at depths of up to 25 metres. In case you’re planning some adventuring, it’s also shockproof for drops of up to 2m, freeze proof to -10°C and dustproof.
