This is one of the startups selected by CcHub for funding and support through the Diaspora Challenge.

The 1 Million Teachers Project which aims to develop a subscription-based online learning platform for teachers has been selected for funding and support by CcHUB under the Diaspora Challenge.

TechCity gathered that the startup will be receiving an investment of USD15,000 and the team will also be enrolled into a 9-month long Acceleration Programme during which they will be accessing business advisory support and mentors with domain knowledge expertise.

CcHub said the provisions would be engaging and would allow the team to build and scale their prototype.

The 1 Million Teachers’ team is led by Hakeem Subair and they aim to train 1 million teachers in impoverished nations within 365 days.

“Over 48 hours, The Breakout Project will provide 1 Million Teachers with the essential resources it needs to move forward. “We need funding, awareness, and talent across technical, business development, content creation and education system development to achieve this mission,” Subair said.

It would be recalled that in May 2017, CcHub, a social innovation center, launched the Diaspora Challenge through which it aimed to invest in ideas that solve clear problems and issues that affects a large number of people in Africa, improve on an existing process/solution, and leverage digital technology (web or mobile) for execution.
