ChatGPT app is now available to download in Nigeria, Ghana, UK, others

Colossaly successful artificial intelligence company, OpenAI has shared a major update on the mobile version of ChatGPT.

After releasing the groundbreaking product on iOS for its users in the USA earlier this month, OpenAI tweeted that the app is now available in more countries like Nigeria, Ghana, Namibia, Morocco, United Kingdom, Israel, UAE, South Korea, France, Peru, Germany, Albania, Croatia, Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand, Nicaragua, the United States and more.

Following OpenAI CEO, Sam Altman’s tech tour to Nigeria last week, the country is home to one of ChatGPT’s biggest user bases. At the event, tagged “Conversations with OpenAI CEO” which held in Lagos, Altman shared that while he supports regulation of AI, he is also concerned about over regulation. He was also keen on learning from the bustling tech echo system in Nigeria how OpenAI can improve their products based on the Nigerian user feed back.

At the moment, the ChatGPT app is not yet available for Android users but the company has said Android users are next. The ChatGPT app looks just like the website version and syncs your conversation history from iPhone to laptop. The mobile app also allows you use voice to enter queries.

Basic features on the ChatGPT app are free but subscribers of ChatGPT Plus will have unlimited access to the chatbot during peak periods and via GPT-4. For $20/month, they also get faster responses from ChatGPT and priority access to new features.
