Clubhouse users will soon be able to share outside links and monetize their work on the platform.
This was revealed by it’s CEO, Paul Davison and head of marketing Maya Watson at The Verge event. Moderators will be able to pin outside links at the top of a room.
The links can be a Patreon page, news article, podcast or whatever moderators want.However Davidson said that explicit links will be prohibited for security and moderation reasons. He emphasised that links to OnlyFans too will not be allowed since porn is ruled out too.
A moderator of a room can add, change, or remove a link, regardless of the number of followers they have.
The big catch to this feature is that Clubhouse would not deduct its cut of revenue from any transactions that occur through the links. Instead, Davison said that Clubhouse will be monetized through ticketed rooms and subscriptions.
