Google has launched standalone Docs and Sheets mobile apps for iOS and Android. This will enable one create and edit documents and spreadsheets on mobile devices.
Presently Slide app which will permit creation and editing of power point presentation is not available, Google says it is coming soon.
Although Google Drive app allows one to create, view, and edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, the company decided to split those functionalities in a separate app for each purpose. The launch of these individual apps will enable Google compete directly with Apple and Microsoft who already have productivity tools they offer to customers.
The apps has offline support which means that one can create and edit documents and presentation without internet connection.
These apps are now available for download in the App Store (Docs, Sheets) and on Google Play (Docs, Sheets).
