Last week, Elon Musk put out a poll asking Twitter users if they would like Donald Trump’s Twitter account reinstated. From the poll, which pulled over 15 million voters, 52% of that number want the former President of the United States back on Twitter. After the poll had expired and the results were revealed, Musk tweeted “Vox Populi, Vox Dei” which is Latin for “the voice of the people, the voice of God.”

Following Musk’s tweet, @realDonaldTrump became active again after a year of inactivity from a Twitter ban. After the account’s reinstatement, the former POTUS’ fans besieged the handle with follows.

Since the account became active again, the former president hasn’t shared a single tweet making some question his return to the platform. Recall that after Donald Trump lost access to Twitter, he went on to launch his own social media platform, Truth Social. The reach of Truth Social is nothing in comparison with that of Twitter, so it might just be a matter of time till we see Trump tweet again.

According to those familiar with the matter, Trump’s stand is that he will not be returning to Twitter. But, news making the rounds say he will be running again for presidency come 2024, and he will need to gather the masses together and Twitter may prove useful for the businessman turned politician in achieving his presidential goals. In the coming months, we will see whether the former President of the United States will return fully to Twitter.

This reinstatement has torn Twitter into parts, with one side supporting the decision, another condemning it, and the rest just watching the chaos unfold. Well, it is no surprise, ever since Musk took over control of Twitter, the platform has been a bit of a. mad house. Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and Twitter’s staff are just a few of the issues that are drawing people’s attention from around the internet.
