A music app has been launched called the Minstrels app. The app is powered by etranzactPLC and it is basically for gospel music. The brand new Minstrels app is bringing music, video streaming and downloads of gospel music stars. It is a “global” gospel music platform that wants to give more power to the gospel ministers. With this app, users would be granted access to exclusive releases from gospel ministers. In the past, many gospel artistes had signed on to platforms like Spinlet to release their work exclusively but apart from the challenge of very slow adoption, the inconsistency of Spinlet also made it a less than desirable experience for the music ministers.
Beyond the app being a database of gospel Nigerian music, it “hopes to break denominational walls…” says Nathaniel Bassey who spoke at the launch sporting a tee shirt with the app logo plastered on it.

According to etranzactPLC, the Minstrels app is a new home for spirit filled music and it will be the fastest way to find Gospel music in Nigeria, hopefully all over the world too, soon. The app is currently available on Google play store and Apple store and can be downloaded here.
Gospel music lovers can choose whatever type of music they like- traditional gospel music or modern Christian rock and hopefully an option for “western” gospel music too.
As exciting as the news of a Gospel music app is, nothing has been said about the app having provision for lyrics to songs which will be a good selling point except there would be a paid version and that would come at a price. We are also not certain how much each song would go for in the case of a purchase.
There is still so much we’d love to know about the app, but we’ll wait it out and see how things unfold.
P.S. Does the logo of the app ring a bell?
