Facebook just rolled out 1,500 new Emojis or emoticons or smileys to allow you better express yourself while chatting with friends and family.
Wondering why Facebook would take such actions following the facts that they already have a huge number of emoticons running? Well, Facebook says the new emojis became necessary because current ones aren’t “living up to gender and skin tone diversity that we see in our world every day.”
Facebook also added that since emoticons are found in about 10 percent of all mobile sends, it was important that vamp up the platform’s non-verbal stance in order to make chatting expressions better and I believe, to discourage racism.
The emojis appear on the Facebook messenger app, right under the message composer field all the way to the left. So feel free to indulge as much as you’d like to.
