The myFRSC app is the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) of Nigeria’s recently launched mobile app on the Google Play Store. The app which was designed by Oyeleke Okiki first began as a National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) community development project aimed at educating Nigerians on all FRSC codes, regulations, offenses and fines.
Aside from educating users about all they need to know in order to maintain Nigerian traffic laws and regulations, the myFRSC app provides users with access to;
- Real time traffic with Google Maps
- Direct links to important vehicle licensing portals for driver’s license registration, plate number collection centers, accredited driving schools and so on
- Custom traffic twitter feeds from twitter handles; @trafficbutter and @gidi_traffic (for Lagos state)
- Ambulance centers and contacts for each Local Government Area (LGA) by State.
- Towing vehicle centers and contacts for each LGA by state
- Custom FRSC contact details by state
You can download the myFRSC app for free from the Google Play Store but it currently only provides relevant information for Lagos, Abia and the FCT. The app’s developer says that plans are in motion to add information for other states in coming months.
