Bendgate: Samsung Videos Says Galaxy Note 4 Wont Bend Like The iPhone

Samsung wouldn’t just let Apple go with the Bendgate saga. The company released a video of its Galaxy Note 4 passing a ‘’bend test’’. Samsung is definitely using every opportunity to capitalize on the controversy over reports that the iPhone 6 Plus was known to bend in your pocket. The release of YouTube videos showing the iPhone 6 Plus bending didn’t help matters either.

The Samsung bend test video is called “Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Endures the Gluteus Maximus”. It shows the Note 4 being sat on repeatedly yet nothing happens to it. The video starts with captions showing the number of things that could bend if kept in back pockets – wallets, credit cards, and even a fork (don’t know what a fork would be doing in your back pocket though). It goes on to show smartphones and the Galaxy Note 4 refusing to be broken even when pressure is applied on it by a heavy machine.

That’s the “three-point bend test” where the Galaxy Note 4 is propped up on each end, with a metal rod pressing the phone down in the center. According to the video, that’s enough pressure to break three pencils at once. Samsung doesn’t stop at that, the equivalent weight of a 100kg man sits on the phone repeatedly about several hundred times yet the screen does not crack neither does the body bend.

These tests only show how insecure Samsung gets when they hear the name ‘’Apple’’. It’s like kicking a man because he’s on the ground.  Apple’s response to the Bendgate allegations was that the iPhone 6 Plus bending is an “extremely rare” occurrence.

Samsung is having their fun now with the Apple Bendgate saga, but there might also be a Samsung Gapgate saga as there have been several reports from Korea about there being a gap between the phone’s screen and its metal casing. I’m sure Apple would be mature enough not to retaliate if that time comes.
