On Wednesday, tech giant Google released images of the next flagship device the Pixel 4.
According to Google, the decision to release the images were in response to increasing interest in the device although there’s currently no release date for the Pixel 4.
“Well, since there seems to be some interest, here you go! Wait ’til you see what it can do. #Pixel4,” Google said on Twitter.
While Google Pixel phones are the first to sport Google’s new versions of Android, they haven’t performed very well in the market in comparison with Apple, Samsung, Huawei and Tecno.
Pixel phones have been critically acclaimed for their cameras. The first three iterations had only a single camera on the back.
Analysing the images released by Google, CNN experts observed the image showed no rear fingerprint reader, which has been a signature of the Pixel phones.
Google’s decision to release the images maybe aimed at being ahead of leaks of device images and specifications that occurred prior to the release of previous Pixel phones.
For the Pixel 4, potential renderings and information have surfaced online recently, but it’s unclear how much of that will be available on the device.
