Google Wallet is rolling out a new feature that allows parents and guardians in the UK, US, Australia, Spain, and Poland to give their children access to digital payments on Android devices—with built-in parental controls.
The update, which will be available over the coming weeks, enables children to securely tap to pay in stores and store digital passes like event tickets, library cards, and gift cards in one convenient app.
Built-In Safety and Parental Controls
Safety remains a top priority for Google Wallet. This new feature gives parents tools to monitor and manage their child’s activity. Payment cards can only be added with parental consent, and every transaction made by the child triggers an email notification to the parent.
Through Google Family Link, parents can:
- View recent purchases
- Remove payment cards
- Disable access to stored passes
This update brings more flexibility to families looking to teach kids about money management while ensuring a secure and supervised digital payment experience.
