Security on mobile devices is an important element and have evolved over the years. TECNO also joined a few years back with the introduction of fingerprint sensors to their smartphones, however the company decided to take a higher leap with the introduction of facial recognition on the new Camon X pro. The Face ID feature on the Camon X pro works well with very low fail rate. In this article, we would take you on a step by step process of how to set it up and also how to lock and unlock your apps using the Face ID option.
To begin, first you need to set up the the Facial recognition by clicking the Face ID app, you then choose between pattern, pin or password lock if you don’t already have one active. If you do, then get past the security to get into the face ID management window.
Here you have three usage options alongside ‘Enroll Face ID’. These are: Unlock screen, Access App lock and Face Fill Light.
Tap on ‘Enroll Face ID’, Face ID instruction is pull up, read and tap on ‘continue’
The window for the scanning process opens up with a view finder (small circle) where you keep your face.
The scanning should be comple within seconds and then you are good to go.
Afterwards, the other three options are toggled and turned on automatically.
Now that your Face ID is up and active, let’s get to locking and unlocking apps with Face ID.
To select the app to lock, look for the ‘Phone master’ app,
Open it and tap on ‘tool box’
Open ‘App lock’, then enter your pattern, pin or password or simply use Face ID to gain access. Please not that this pattern/password/pin may be different from the one you use in unlocking the phone.
A list of all your apps is pulled up in alphabetical order with unlocked padlock icon. Scroll through the app list and tap the padlock icon before the app you wish to lock.
Once that is done, the padlock icon colour changes to blue and locked apps move to the top of the list.
Afterwards, your select apps are locked and prevented from unauthorized access. Next time you launch the app, you will need to input your pattern lock/password/pin or simply feel cool by unlocking with your face.
