Telco operators have shared easy steps for affected customers to unblock their lines.
Following the MTN mass SIM blocking and all the agitation that followed, the NCC ordered all Telcos to reconnect all blocked SIMs .
The Telcos in turn have released instructions to assist all affected subscribers unblock their SIMs.
AIRTEL
Airtel customers are expected to
- dial *121# and
- input eleven digit NIN number
GLO
Glo, users need to dial *109*NIN number#
MTN
MTN users should visit nin.mtn.ng to check the NIN status and link it if not yet linked.
SMILE
Smile customers need to send their valid NIN to customercare@smile.com.ng or call 07020444444.
SPECTRANET
Spectranet requires customers to call its toll free line 8002345678 and submit NIN. Customers however need to have their KYC up to date. That can be done at a Spectranet store.
NTEL
Ntel customers should visit any Ntel store with their NIN to update their lines.
The NCC has warned that the commission’s intervention is only for a limited period of time and encouraged all users to get their NIN-SIM linkage done immediately.
