HTC One M9 Unveiled at MWC 2015

After series of rumours and leaks, the new HTC One M9 was officially unveiled at the MWC yesterday. The new device sports a metallic body with beautiful design, something HTC brags about. According to HTC CEO Peter Chou, “This is our third generation of our iconic design, People say M8 is the most beautiful smartphone on the market, but we wanted to strive higher.”

The M9 is a five inch device that runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop, powered by a fast 64-Bits octa-core Snapdragon processor. Of the 8-cores, 4 of them are clocked at 2GHz while the other four are at 1.5GHz. RAM size is clocked at 3GB.

Although the device runs on Android, you still find the HTC Skin on the it. The skin is the new HTC sense 7 which gives users more control with a great level of customisation. Users can modify colour scheme of the UI, re-arrange the Android menu and even change the way icons look.

The 5-inch LCD display screen is clocked at 1080 x 1920, HTC decided to still retain the full HD screen instead of opting for quad-HD like other device manufacturers.

HTC finally made a dramatic change to the camera, while the company has been making impressive efforts at designs and internal specs, they have always let us down on the camera specs by sticking to the UltraPixel camera.. Now HTC has bundled the M9 with a 20MP camera with a f/2.2 aperture lens and a BSI sensor. HTC also put two LED flash beside the rear camera. The video can also do 4K video recording. Well the UltraPixel isnt gone yet, HTC now put the ULtrapPixel camera in front and this has the wide angle advantage and low lighting capabilities.

Internal memory is 32GB and can be expanded with a microSD card up to 128GB. Battery capacity sits at 2840mAh.

Alonggside the M9, HTC also introduced a fitness band called HTC Grip and a Virtual reality headset, the Vive. The Grip can connect to your smartphone to receive calls and notifications and will work on both Android and iOS devices. It is also GPS-enablds and can track walking, running, cycling.
