IBM SmartCamp Lagos 2014, attracted startups from diverse fields. After 3 years IBM is delighted to report that their IBM Global Entrepreneurial Initiative has gained much momentum in Africa. It held on the 18th of July at the IBM West Africa Campus in Lagos.
The aim of the initiative is to build relationships with quality Startups and help accelerate their entrance into the market with a cost effective, sustainable and profitable model. The IBM SmartCamp for Africa is co-sponsored by Tech4Africa, holding programs in Nairobi, Lagos, Capetown and Johannesburg.
IBM wants to team with entrepreneurs to make a positive and fundamental difference in the way we live and work by building a Smarter Planet. For startups developing solutions, the IBM Global Entrepreneur initiative provides the support and resource to help you change the way the world works.
The Lagos event was a great success with mind blowing ideas from the different startups which aggressively competed for the first prize.

iQube is an Applied Computer Science Research & Development company that aims to provide custom app-based solutions to challenges that are locally relevant using mobile and web technologies.

After hours of pitching and deliberation, the startup with the winning idea was VacantBoards.
