The workshop, themed, “Tech Careers 360: A Deep Dive into Succeeding in the Global Job Market,” provided valuable tips on how to secure a dream job in Europe, with strategies that are applicable worldwide.

Participants in the one-day hybrid event gained valuable knowledge on crafting compelling job-winning CVs and acing job interviews. The session provided practical strategies and tools to help participants navigate the global job market and secure their desired positions.

The session also provided insights into the current trends and expectations of the German job market, empowering participants to make informed career decisions as well as getting expert guidance on preparing for both HR and technical interviews.

Senior Programs Manager at Tech4Dev, Abraham Akpan said, “The collaboration with Imagine Foundation was very timely for a lot of tech talent in Nigeria looking to secure full-time or hybrid roles abroad and Germany specifically. A lot of them have gained valuable insights on how best to craft their CVs and how best to approach technical and non-technical interviews.

“I believe the knowledge garnered will help them approach their next application with a lot more confidence. This is in line with our vision and mission at Tech4Dev which is not only equipping Africans with tech kills but also creating an avenue and access to decent jobs and improved livelihood.”

Emma Felsenstein, Head of Operations, Imagine Foundation said the event was an eye opener into the challenges faced by job seekers in Nigeria and she is delighted with the outcome.

“The insightful questions raised during the event, particularly those surrounding the challenges of employing talented individuals with limited work experience, were truly eye-opening. This prompted us to explore innovative solutions to this issue.

Our collaboration with Tech4Dev on this event stemmed from our shared commitment to fostering career opportunities in the tech sector.”
