Intel CEO, Brian Krzanich has announced that all products shipped from the second quarter of this year will be conflict-free and will carry the “conflict-free” label.
This is the company’s way of showing it has achieved its long time goal of not supporting conflict by sourcing minerals like – tantalum, tungsten, gold and tin mined in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Although Krzanich did not announce it, Intel noted at the bottom of its press release for his keynote that the conflict free statement “may not apply to products of Altera Corporation,” – the programmable logic chipmaker it acquired last year.
Since Muslim and people-of-color regions are disproportionately
impacted by conflict, isn’t this prohibition an Islamophobic, even racist policy?
Where’s the compassion for people negatively affected by conflict?
