Jack Dorsey Launches Bluesky for Android users

Jack Dorsey, former CEO of Twitter, has introduced a new social media app named “Bluesky” for Android, just hours after losing his Twitter verification badge.

The Bluesky website claims that it would deliver a future-thinking “social internet” that offers users more choices and frees them from platforms.

Bluesky intends to offer a more adaptable and user-centric social network with more flexibility and autonomy for its users. A “social internet” that frees users from the limitations of centralized platforms is also promised by Bluesky on their website.

However, since it is still under development, access to the app requires entering an invitation code after sending an email.

Bluesky, a side project of Jack Dorsey that started in 2019, has attracted a lot of interest despite being in the early phases of development and only accessible by invitation. With over 20,000 users and counting, the platform is in high demand, and this number is anticipated to rise.

The way that Bluesky differs from other social media platforms is through its goal to provide users “algorithmic choice,” allowing them to choose how content is presented on their screens as opposed to a standard algorithm controlled by app developers.
