Konga.com has officially appointed Mr. Shola Adekoya as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The company made the announcement today, almost two months after Adekoya was appointed to serve as the company’s interim CEO.
Mr. Shola Adekoya takes over from former founder and CEO, Sim Shagaya who stepped down from his position in order to serve as the Chairman of the Board of Directors in January.
As CEO, Adekoya will oversee the company on a daily basis as he works with the company’s board to strengthen the company’s position in Nigeria’s e-commerce sector. He is also charged with the responsibility to identify new business opportunities.
Konga’s new CEO is a seasoned professional with over 17 years of business and management experience in finance, telecom, logistics retail and transportation across Europe and Africa. He joined Konga in 2013, as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and later moved to become the Company’s Chief Operating Officer before serving as its interim CEO.
Congrats Mr Adekoya. We at TechCity wish you the very best in your new position. We’re also looking out for the innovations you’ll bring so…bring it on.
