The Lagos state government swears that its new ride hailing app, Lagos ride is special. But with an already existing array of similar products for riders to choose from, what makes Lagos ride different?

A ride hailing service for Lagosians

The Lagos Ride service was launched by the Lagos government back in March 2021 as part of the government’s socio-economic intervention program aimed at giving citizens of Lagos access to better transport choices. To execute this, over 1,000 SUVs were deployed in and around the state on the day it was unveiled. This to the chagrin of motorists as the unveiling caused a gridlock on major Lagos roads.

What makes Lagos Ride different from its competition?

With Lagos Ride, you get the option to pick between four different classes while hailing a ride. Each class has a different range or budget for riders.
At the top of the pecking order is class A. Class A is the most expensive option and promises a number of luxury services. You get to ride alone, delay to trip, and so much more.

The app also categorizes rides into classes B, C and D. All of these other classes pair riders up to ease the cost of each trip from one person to a pool of riders.

Class B pairs you up with just one rider that is taking the same route as you while class C accommodates three riders at once and class D pools a ride for four. Booking any ride other than class A means that you get to pay less. With the class feature, you get the option to schedule rides ahead of time, so you won’t get to wait for other riders to join your ride.

To use Lagos Ride, download the app from Google PlayStore or the App Store.
