It’s been years since Samsung started working on foldable screens and according to a recent report on Bloomberg technology, Samsung may sell us smartphones with bendable screens early next year.
That will be dope!! And it’ll also desimate iPhone sales #justsaying
According to the report, although both devices use organic light-emitting diodes, one of them is expected to come in a flip-phone form while the other device will more or else unfold from a 5” smartphone to an 8” tablet.”
You’ll need to watch the video here to really get a sense of how the ‘phone – tablet’ device looks like.
But this isn’t a complete surprise to me. Samsung has been working hard over the years on bendable screen technology and its improvements in that area made the curved screens in the Galaxy Round, Galaxy Note Edge and S Edge series all possible. But even then. Actually seeing the phone fully manufactures will just be epic.
According to AndroidAuthority, Samsung will be able to pull this off by using a “plastic-based substrate that can be flexed without damaging it” instead of conventional glass. They’ve also been able to ensure that image quality stays the same even when the screen is bent and this breakthrough too is another reason why bring the foldable screen devices to market is now highly probable.
