Last week, Facebook had to apologise to Filipinos for erroneously stating their nation was at war. And today an apology to the Brits may be in order as Facebook makes another gaffe.
This morning Brits were greeted by a ‘Happy Summer’ graphic on Facebook with the caption “Hello sun-it’s been a while” when it was raining horribly. People weren’t pleased.
No Facebook. It clearly isn’t the first day of summer. #wetfeet pic.twitter.com/TBtbjXOj6H

Facebook tells me it’s the first day of summer. Facebook lies. Facebook clearly doesn’t live in #London. pic.twitter.com/chhrWUKlfV

Thing is, it’s true that today is the first day of summer because the solstice fell this week, however, the caption ““Hello sun-it’s been a while” was completely off and it makes me suspect that the graphic was either scheduled or it was posted by an employee you doesn’t live in London or both..lol
Anyway, thank you Facebook for letting people like me know that summer has officially begun.
