Nokia has launched the Lumia 1020 smartphone that bags a 41 megapixel cameral, aimed at satisfying a large segment of the Nigerian market. The Lumia 1020 is being launched in the Nigerian market in partnership with Etisalat Nigeria and Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates.
Mr Chris Brown, general manager of Nokia West Africa, made it known that the product is based on Nokia’s level of innovation and years of research in imaging technology. Its 41-megapixel camera sensor combines with Xenon flash, focus assist light and Nokia’s Pro Cam app makes it the most advanced and powerful camera Smartphone.
The device is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 4.5-inch 1280×768 (334 ppi) AMOLED display, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage and a 2000MAh non-removable battery. It also supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and support for 4G LTE network.
We have also partnered United Arab Emirates flag carrier, Etihad Airways to give customers who purchase the Lumia 1020 various discounts on Etihad Airways published or structural fares,” he added.
Speaking to customers during the launch of the device, renowned Nigerian photographer, Kelechi Amadi-Obi, said the Lumia 1020 Smartphone’s dual capture feature allows users to snap a quality picture and also allows instant sharing on social media. While sharing some pictures he took with the Lumia 1020 tagged “Nigeria in 41 Pictures,” he explained that with the Nokia Pro Camera, users can easily take professional quality images.
Speaking at the launch, Director Retail sales at Etisalat Nigeria, Charles Ogunwuyi, said, “Etisalat’s partnership with Nokia for the launch of the Lumia 1020 is a result of shared values by both organizations.
