Winners have been announced in the first edition of the Mobo Game Jam, organised by Kucheza Gaming in collaboration with Union Bank’s Edu360, Digital Schoolhouse, and Into Games.
Mobo Game Jam, a global game-making challenge saw young innovators from across Nigeria and the UK compete to create games that combine creativity, compassion, and computational thinking to solve a worldwide problem. This year, the focus was on developing games and game prototypes that addressed the lack of access to clean water. The Game Jam was designed to encourage inclusivity, sustainability, and humanity in nurturing young innovators’ ideas.
From over 1000 registrations received, 12 finalists were shortlisted to compete in the final showcase in March. Winners from each age category were then selected through a very competitive public voting process.
Mmesoma Udonsi’s game – Water Allies came first in the 8-11 age category, while Noah Samuel won in the 12-14 years category with his game Race for Water. Obi Chigbata’s game Aqua also won in the 15 – 18 age group.
Winners were presented with exciting prizes including a range of dedicated game laptops and cash rewards during an event that held at the Union Bank Head office.
Congratulations to all the winners!
