Regional finals for the 2016 Microsoft Imagine Cup start this week on March 3rd. Currently in its 9th edition, the Imagine Cup is the biggest student software competition in the world which has brought together 400,000+ competitors representing over 183 countries since its inception in 2003.
The aim of the Imagine Cup is to inspire students around the world to innovate across all of Microsoft’s technology platforms while cultivating their entrepreneurial spirits. The year-long competition also creates opportunities for students to learn how to launch their business and bring their ideas to market.
Through this Cup, Microsoft fosters a student developer community as it provides tools and resources for the winners even beyond the competition that allow students to continue growing and developing their knowledge and skill sets
The competition was open to students of all tertiary institutions in the country.
Important Dates For Competition:
- Registration: February 17, 2016 – March 3, 2016
- Semi Finals (South West): March 3, 2016 – Wennovation Hub, Samonda Ibadan, Oyo state.
- Semi Finals (South-East/South-South): March 5, 2016 – 5 Habitat Drive, NTA Choba Road, Rumualogu, Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
- Semi Finals (North): March 7, 2016 – G-Learning Center Africa, Suite 003 3rd Floor, Abiding Grace Plaza Abdusalami Abubakar way. Off FGC Boys Abdul one street, Gudu District Abuja.
Just in case you’d have loved to register for this competition but you failed to do so this year. Don’t worry. keep checking our website in the coming days, as we will be live at all three regional events. That way you’ll have a good knowledge of what the competition feels like and then you’ll be better prepared to apply for next year’s edition.
