MainOne-Nigeria’s leading provider of network solutions and communications services for business, last week hosted IT professionals, IT enthusiasts and other technology players at the second edition of her annual Nerds Unite Technology Conference.
Nerds Unite 2016 which took place at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos is one platform through which MainOne brings together its customers and partners for impactful knowledge sharing sessions and social networking.
This year’s event delivered a wealth of new content, unparalleled networking opportunities and key insights to enrich the technical audience. Various topics were discussed including best practices to address emerging challenges facing Enterprises in Connectivity, Data Centre, Cloud and Security.
Speaking during her presentation on “The Shape of Things to Come”, MainOne’s CEO, Funke Opeke, analyzed latest trends in technology including Data Centre, Cloud services and the Internet of Things (IoT). She also urged IT professionals to endeavor to adopt new technologies for enhanced operational efficiency for their organizations.
“In light of economic realities, it is important for businesses to take a closer look at their operational costs and take advantage of Data Centre, Cloud and Connectivity solutions to manage costs and drive improved operational efficiency during this challenging period”, she said.
Nerds Unite 2016 featured break-out sessions facilitated by representatives from Arbor Networks Microsoft, Schneider Electric, Cisco, DBH and MainOne all of whom delivered insightful content. After hours of intensive workshops, the event ended with ample opportunities for participants to network with one another as they engaged in various fun activities like the raffle draw games and lots of music.
